Hi Michelle and Hi Lisa: The only information that I a have from protandim was from other message board and other parents report. I think that is a good supplement. Oxidative stress increase the severity of muscle diseases: (http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/entrez/query.fcgi?db=pubmed&cmd=Retrieve&dopt=AbstractPlus&list_uids=15990924&query_hl=3&itool=pubmed_docsum). We can use several supplements to reduce this oxidative stress: green tea, coq 10, vitamin E and others. Protandim contain 6 antioxidants: Green tea is a know antioxidant but there are few studies with Whitania somnifera. Bacopa monniera - anther antioxidant can help in memory: (http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/entrez/query.fcgi?db=pubmed&cmd=Retrieve&dopt=AbstractPlus&list_uids=12093601&query_hl=14&itool=pubmed_docsum) (http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/entrez/query.fcgi?db=pubmed&cmd=Retrieve&dopt=AbstractPlus&list_uids=14994318&query_hl=14&itool=pubmed_docsum) Curcumin was tested in mdx mice with good results Silybum marianum - can help too (http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/entrez/query.fcgi?db=pubmed&cmd=Retrieve&dopt=AbstractPlus&list_uids=17011711&query_hl=18&itool=pubmed_docsum). In summary protandim contain some plants that could help in DMD. We can't prove this effect in few time: a clinical trial is expensive and we will spend much time to see any results. In my opinion this supplement is safe. I don't see any problem to try protandim. My son have more age (22 years old in March) and he use green tea, vitamin E and coq 10 as antioxidant. He never presented any problem with memory or learn or speech. He will complete the University in the next July (journalism). I think to try protandim too. David

Hi David
My son at an early age showed very little learning problems. Now at 14 he is very intelligent. I was going to try the protandim for it use if it increased strength.
